Crackle & Scotch Tape Mani | Cute & Easy Nail Art Design

Here is my current mani. I was looking at Chloe's Nail Blog and found her tutorial on how she does her scotch tape manis. The designs she is able to make with just some scotch tape are amazing, so you should check out her blog and see more of her work. This was my first attempt at the scotch tape mani, and I think it came out really well-even though I would posistion the tape better next time. Not as well as Chloe's though- but she also has many years of scotch tape & nail painting experience. lol This mani is really easy, the hardest part is cutting out the tiny strips of tape- but the results are well worth it. Since I was a first timer, I just decided to do two fingers with the rays and just used a crackle polish for my other 3 nails.

Light Pink Color: Sinful Colors "Glass Pink"

On another note, the reason I never posted a Mardi Gras mani is because it ended up being a complete nail fail. lol I used those tiny lil beads to create "mardi gras beads" but when I applied the top coat the color from the beads came off and smeared all over the place. Also beads were falling off left and right, and I dinged my nails up like crazy. But here is the pic of my most grand nail fail lol..

Anyways, once I take my new mani off, my St. Patrick's day one will be going on. I'll try to post it early next week.

Top Coat: Seche Vite

I wish this color showed up the way it did in the pictures. Well, actually it was a lot lighter in the sun, but inside this color is almost a deep red. This color made it entirely impossible for me to get pics that were color accurate. In the bottle, this color is a brighter purple-ish color, almost a cross between plum and hot pink. I think the fact that I used 3 coats to have an even finish (the color streaks a bit), it made the color a lot darker. Also, another weird thing about this color, it dries matte. I am not sure if it is suppose to, or if it is a defective polish, but a few of my Sinful Colors polishes do this.

China Glaze Poolside Collection

YELLOW POLKA DOT BIKINI
Very bright neon yellow. A bit hard to work with, I had to do four coats. I think white polish under would solve the problem. Still nothing one can´t handle and the result is worth it. It really shines!

 SUN WORSHIPER
A beautiful neon orange. This will make a great pedi color. It was also a bit harder to work with. But I expected that and again used four coats.

Eyeko Punk

Eyeko has two new limited edition polishes and I got the chance to try them out! Although I am a big fan of dark and vampy colors for fall there is nothing better that a bright pink to cheer up those cold and rainy days. And Eyeko Punk is not just bright, it is super bright!


Eyeko Punk is nearly a neon. It doesn´t dry matte but satiny. Still if you want it to shine, just add a top coat.

OPI Burlesque Collection Holiday

I am a bit late with swatches of the OPI latest collection but I still think these are worth looking at again and again :) The Burlesque collection consists of twelve polishes...six shimmers and six glitters.
