Crackle & Scotch Tape Mani | Cute & Easy Nail Art Design

Here is my current mani. I was looking at Chloe's Nail Blog and found her tutorial on how she does her scotch tape manis. The designs she is able to make with just some scotch tape are amazing, so you should check out her blog and see more of her work. This was my first attempt at the scotch tape mani, and I think it came out really well-even though I would posistion the tape better next time. Not as well as Chloe's though- but she also has many years of scotch tape & nail painting experience. lol This mani is really easy, the hardest part is cutting out the tiny strips of tape- but the results are well worth it. Since I was a first timer, I just decided to do two fingers with the rays and just used a crackle polish for my other 3 nails.

On another note, the reason I never posted a Mardi Gras mani is because it ended up being a complete nail fail. lol I used those tiny lil beads to create "mardi gras beads" but when I applied the top coat the color from the beads came off and smeared all over the place. Also beads were falling off left and right, and I dinged my nails up like crazy. But here is the pic of my most grand nail fail lol..

Anyways, once I take my new mani off, my St. Patrick's day one will be going on. I'll try to post it early next week.

China Glaze

It is raining outside and it will for another week, that sucks! I decided that I need a mani to cheer me up and the choice was Flip Flop Fantasy from the Poolside collection. This color is really so much fun, it is so positive :) Black konad looks great over these bright colors, so I went for something simple and summery. Image from plate m28. Oh and guess where China Glaze is from? Yes, California!

CHINA GLAZE CRACKLE POLISH | Cute Crackle Polish Nail Art Design

Crackle Polish is so addicting to use. I want to crackle every nail swatch/sample I have lol. The next time I do a crackle mani I am going to use a thicker coat to make the crackles bigger. From far away this nail design looks like an uneven black color, so I think having bigger crackles will allow you to see the 2 colors easier.

**the design is much prettier up close**

I just couldn't resist the urge to buy China Glaze's Crackle polish. I remember crackle polishes back in the day and I was so excited to see them make a come back. I didn't want to re-paint my nails yet so I figured this would be the perfect time to do a pedicure.

China Glaze Poolside Collection

YELLOW POLKA DOT BIKINI
Very bright neon yellow. A bit hard to work with, I had to do four coats. I think white polish under would solve the problem. Still nothing one can´t handle and the result is worth it. It really shines!

 SUN WORSHIPER
A beautiful neon orange. This will make a great pedi color. It was also a bit harder to work with. But I expected that and again used four coats.

China Glaze Stella vs. China Glaze Cowgirl Up

I love Stella. It´s one of my winter favorites. I always wanted to know how different from Cowgirl Up it is. Now I know it, thanks to my friend Boruvka. They are very similar, but Stella is more "clean" purple and Cowgirl Up has more red-brown undertones. Cowgirl Up is richer, deeper. I like still Stella because of its color purity. What about you? Poll – What’s Your Favorite Polish Finish?

I recently ran a poll on Twitter and the big question was “What’s your FAVORITE polish finish? Holographic, creme, glitter (chunky or micro)? Shimmer, matte, duo chrome, or jelly? ” According to the feedback I recieved from the people that responded, CREMES won with 35% of your votes! Most of you agreed that “Creme’s are classic;  you can never go wrong with a creme polish.” Here’s a popular

Here’s a blast from the past: China Glaze Grape Juice from the Summer Days Collection! Many of you will remember this color from the Summer of 2009, along with all the other bright, juicy, fruit-inspired colors. This collection was definitely a favorite because of the glass-flecked micro glitter. Who doesn’t love some shimmer and shine?
